organisms.
Standards: 3.2.D.b, 3.2.E.b
NOTEBOOK CHECK - PHOTO ID - Look at the images above. Identify each of the images as one of the four major classes of biomolecules. Then explain how you knew. What about the picture gave it away? Be careful... some pictures may be harder than they seem... :)
This will start a new notebook page - "Unit 1 - Objective C" Always look at the top of each webpage to double check if you are unsure. Each page is a different objective.

NOTEBOOK ENTRY - LAB CHECK - Think back to the vocab. What does the word biomolecule mean? (you may have to look up the word molecule for a definition) What can you learn about biomolecules just from the name? Now think to the Living vs Nonliving Lab. What can you know about the presence of biomolecules in the specimens we looked at that day? Without having to look through a microscope, can you tell me which specimens had biomolecules in them? How do you know?
* Don't forget. Notebook entries need to be a MINIMUM of 3-5 sentences. As we get further in the semester, each notebook entry will have several questions (make sure you answer EACH ONE separately) and I expect well thought out answers. Don't take short cuts!!! Do yourself a favor and spend time on these entries. It will only help you in the long run.
