NOTEBOOK ENTRY - CAN YOU TELL? - Work in 2 groups of PAIRS. Go the the following link (both pairs). Read the introduction at the top of the page. Below the intro, you will see pictures of a variety of organisms.
- Pair #1 reads first while Pair #2 answers.
- Pair #2 is NOT allowed to use their computer during their turn. Pair #1 clicks on one organism. Read the information about the organism to Pair #2. Then Pair #2 must try to determine if the organism reproduces sexually, asexually or both. If Pair #2 answers correctly (on their first try), they can count that organism as 1 POINT. If Pair #2 answers correctly, they are to write down the name of the organism and how they determined how it reproduced in their Portfolio. If Pair #2 did NOT answer correctly, they do not get the point and are not to write it down in their portfolio.
- Once an organism has been read and answered correctly, it can NOT be used again.
- After Pair #2 answers for the first organism (and records it IF they answered correctly) then the pairs trade.
- Pair #2 now reads information to Pair #1 for a DIFFERENT organism.
- Keep taking turns until BOTH teams have earned a total of SEVEN points.
-
- Then write a brief description about (1) did any of them surprise you (wasn't what you expected), (2) did you guess wrong on any of them, (3) what did you learn from the experience?
